WHAT A GREAT YEAR WE HAVE HAD…..

We have just been looking through the GBS Blog and saying that it really has been another great year for us, we have attended many new shows & events, met some great people and had some great experiences.

Just some of the highlights have been…

Working with Bennington Carriages on designing and fabricating a new style carriage that runs on independent suspension that will be using the new ATR Shock absorbers that have been modified specifically to suit the carts. The ATR Shock absorbers which many of you already have on your GBS Zero’s, have also been fitted to Lotus Elise’s through ES Motorsport and this year we were very pleased to hear that they won 1st and 3rd place with the ATR shocks at Hockenheim FIA Lotus cup Europe Jim Clark revival race weekend.

We have had some great opportunities with photographing the GBS Zero which have included some fun with the GBS Zero demonstrators doing some Aerial video. Steve and team from www.high-capture.co.uk spent the afternoon with us getting some excellent video footage of the GBS Zero’s in action. We went and found some nice quite country roads and a local village that was perfect for the filming and photographing the cars. We are hoping to work with Steve again in the new year to get some more video footage, at a different location and possibly some track action of the GBS Zero’s and this time possibly involving some more GBS Zero’s so if you fancy getting involved with your Zero’s let us know!! Take a look at the video.

James Winstanley from Practical Performance Magazine came to see us at the GBS Factory, and took our Zero Mazda demonstrator away for a little road trip challenge. The Zero performed well doing over 900 miles during the 4 days. James was impressed with how it handled and was overwhelmed with all the attention that the Zero received during the trip. The Zero went to London, Penrith, Hadrians Wall, Gateshead, Tyne Bridge. Got some stunning images of the GBS Zero (you can see the feature in their September 2014 issue)

Another big highlight for us was taking delivery of our  brand new Hardinge Bridgeport  Milling Machine earlier in the year that was supplied by ETG that was been added to our already well equipped machine shop. The machine has been up and running since and is busy producing new and existing components including the ATR Shock Absorber and the ATR Throttle Bodies which we are taken orders for now.  We were also very pleased to be in partnership with Edgecam who are supporting us with cam software, they are the market leading CAM software solution for NC Part programming. We look forward to working with them more in 2015.

The launch of the NEW Kit Spares website which went live in March, It is still work in progress and we have a lot more products, photographs to add to the site and further plans to develop it. Next year we have some big plans and ideas to develop both the GBS & Kit Spares websites.

The GBS Open Days and Events that we have attended throughout the year have all been fantastic. Back in June we held a summer open day at the Factory and it was our busiest yet with well over 100 people attending  throughout the day. (Hope the 2015 GBS Open Day will be as busy)

Keith & Richard and several GBS Customers enjoyed a day at the Nurburgring in the GBS Zero’s that was organised by Bernd our German GBS Dealer. As soon as we have the dates for the 2015 Nurburgring track day dates will let you know and hopefully you can join us…. On Sunday 5th October we arranged a run out in the GBS Zero’s, this was the first time we have done a run out and it was a great success with 14 Stunning GBS Zero’s taking over the roads. It was great to see so many Zero’s out on the road together, they all looked stunning and certainly attracted a lot attention throughout the day, all the Zero’s performed well and everyone enjoyed the day. We would like to thank everyone again that joined us and we look forward to next run out, and hopefully we can get even more Zero’s!

There was also a big birthday at GBS this year the GBS Zero demonstrator turned 4 years old…….. Our GBS Zero Ford Demonstrator is a big part of GBS, everyone who has driven it  loves it! There is rarely a weekend when it is at home in the GBS Workshop its either at a show, track day, doing test drives or one of the GBS Team have taken it home for the weekend. Anyone who has visited us over the last 4 years, or attended a track day will have no doubt seen a red bodied Zero with a shiny bonnet and most probably enjoyed a ride out in it!

These are just a few, but please look through the blog to see what other things we have been up to throughout 2014
