Last week it didn’t feel a lot like summer with the horrible weather that we have had, but we were very much still looking forward to our GBS Summer Open Day and what a fantastic day it turned out to be. It was great to have so many people join us, a lot of new faces and a great to have a car park full of sports cars. On the day the GBS workshop, show room, machine shop and Kit Spares shop were busy all day, Laurence was busy all day in the GBS Zero Ford Demonstrator doing test drives! You will be able to see more photos from the day on our facebook page.

It was great that we were joined by Paul Barns and his wife Ofie from California who you many of you will have already seen featured on the GBS Blog with his GBS Zero Mazda that he has on the road over in the USA. Paul & Ofie are over in the UK for a few weeks and we look forward to seeing them again later this week when they are coming back to the factory to see us before they leave.

Also like to thank Adam the editor from Complete Kit Car Magazine who joined us for the day capturing the event that will feature in their CKC magazine. After doing over 25 test drives during the day the GBS Zero Ford demonstrator was then driven away by Adam from CKC Magazine as he was borrowing it to take part in the London to Brighton Run on the Sunday. We were delighted that he choose the GBS Zero to do the event in, which sounded like a great event and Adam will be sending over some more photos later this week that we will share with you.

There was also another car that made an appearance at the open day that attracted a lot of attention, GBS Customer Nigel Hollis has a great collection of cars including a Morgan sports car which we currently have in the GBS workshop that we are currently working on. But on the day he arrived in his steam car, which is over 100 years old, I was lucky enough to a quick ride out in the Steam car which was fantastic – a little slower than the Zero! But it really was a fantastic vehicle and we thank Nigel for bringing it to the open day for you all to see.

Thank you again to everyone that joined us making it a great day, we hope you all enjoyed it too and we look forward to seeing you soon!
