Last month Keith & Richard were pleased to have been invited to attend the Edgecam’s “Inspire” productivity event in partnership with Mazak Sandvik Coromant and Iscar Tools has been described as “industry leaders showing innovative technology. And delegates learned that tools are now being designed around the CAD/CAM software’s Waveform milling strategy.
The event was held at Mazak UK in Worcester, the event included two demonstrations, the first featuring a Great British Sports Cars brake caliper. The part was machined on a Mazak VERTICAL CENTER SMART 430A, using tools from Sandvik Coromant. Amongst the machining highlights: Waveform face milling and rough profiling; along with flow surface, constant cusp, profiling and parallel lace finishing cycles. Soft jaws were created using Boolean Difference in Part Modeler. To see more information and photographs from the day please visit edgecams website www.edgecam.com
We are very pleased to be in partnership with Edgecam who are supporting us with cam software, they are the market leading CAM software solution for NC Part programming. It has been a very busy and exciting year for us and it’s looking like next year will see us continuing to work very closely with Edgecam on some very exciting projects.
Earlier this week we had something a little different in the GBS car park that attracted a lot of attention, we had a 1900 Stanley Steamer Car that a customer bought to show us. The customer is bringing his Morgan sports car to us early next year for the workshop team to carry out some work on. He mentioned that he had this Stanley steam car to the GBS Team when he was here last and they were all keen to see it, so it was kindly driven to the GBS Factory for them to see and attracted a lot of attention by the GBS Team.
The GBS Factory is always busy, and we like to share with you what is going on both at the factory and behind the scenes. So why not follow us on Facebook, Twitter @GBSCars and Instagram and Google + or to receive monthly emails from GBS, please join our mailing list here.
Don’t forget the GBS Xmas Open Day which is this Saturday (12th December) There will be plenty of mince pies & Christmas Treats for you all! Let us know if you are coming!
