GBS ZERO RACE DOING WELL….

It’s always nice to receive emails from customers keeping us update with their adventures of their Zero’s. Last week we got an email from Brothers Andrew & Nick Biddle who you may have seen featured on here before, they compete in the Fueltopia Formula G race series in their Zero Race and are out most weekends competing across the country.

Nick said “15th and 16th of October was the final Rounds of Fueltopia Barrel Sprint and Formula G. The Barrel Sprint on Saturday went well, with a good turn out and dry weather. I managed to qualified 2nd,  I won my semi Final knockout and then won the Final getting a first place on the day and also wining the Overall U1 Class championship title. Andrew Took second place in the championship.
Sunday was the Formula G Gymkhana Event and the day started off wet! Very very wet. Practice in the morning was stopped until the rain eased off. By 11am The track was open and we went out. But with more like lakes than puddles on the track, on my first run I managed to suck water into the engine and had to be pushed back to the pits. Luckily only a very small amount managed to reach the engine and after drying out intercoolers, inlet manifolds and spark plug removal we managed to get up and running again just in time for our afternoon qualifying runs. With a whole season of use on the tyres and little tread left, it proved to be a challenge keeping the heat in the them and felt like we were driving on Ice, but being able to quickly adjust ATR shocks and soften the car meant we could regain some grip and the car proved to be predictable between the wet and dry parts of the track.

The car has proven to be extremely reliable with over 10 race events, the Coventry Motofest and donnington Fast Car show demonstrations this year, all without any major issues or DNF’s“

Our off season maintenance will start soon with a complete engine strip down and clean. I am also hoping to  bring the car down to your Christmas open day too!

We look forward to hopefully seeing Andrew & Nick and their Zero at our Christmas event on the 10th December at the GBS Factory. We would also like to thank Craig Toull CRT Motorsport Photography for letting us use the photos of the Biddle Brothers in action in their Zero.
